Freedom Files

This is my pursuit of freedom. I am a wife to the most amazing guy EVER!, mother of four, with a new one arriving in May. We homeschool, own a business, and love Jesus.

Blah, blah, blah

Well, I have NOT been feeling great. Very emotional. General yuckiness for a couple of days. That good ole 2nd trimester energy burst? Well, I got it. Then it left. It only stuck around for a couple of weeks. I want it back!

Today I'm supposed to meet Andrea for lunch, and then I think I'll just skip right back home and actually try to accomplish something. I'm due to go to Rachel's tonight to get some Christmas presents made. Greg's off work early so I should be able to arrive early and get some good headway made tonight. Every year I have such good intentions on getting my Christmas gift list crossed off early. This year I even wrote a schedule of who/when I was buying for, starting in October. Every other weekend we would shop for one family (brothers and sisters), or a few individuals. But it just hasn't worked out.

Tomorrow I want to get an advent calendar made for the kids - but I really, REALLY need my sewing machine pedal - and I CAN'T FIND IT!!! I found it last week when I was looking for something else. And yesterday when I was looking for that right where I thought I saw it last week - I found the cord for the printer that I couldn't find two weeks ago. I really need to finish unpacking. But we have not much storage and way to much junk. I find sorting overwhelming, and get discouraged. However Greg has said a couple of times now that he really wants to work on the garage (woo-hoo: when he expresses interest in organization, run with it!).

I haven't done a great job of recording my kids funniness, but I really want to try and do better. So here's a start:

We woke up to a dusting of snow today. Brett came upstairs at one point early this morning, and ran out onto the snow-covered deck. Dressed, but in bare feet. I'm thinking he's not going to last more than two seconds. Not only do I have to call him in, but he wants to go right back out. After he removes his pants, because there is snow on the hems, and that just won't do. So out he goes again, sans bottoms - yeah, not even any underwears - and runs full speed ahead, until. His feet slip right out from underneath him, and down he goes, on his bare-naked fanny!!! He promptly came back in the house with a rather interesting look of disgust and wonder on his face!

Christmas

I love Christmas! I haven't always loved Christmas. There was a lot of hurt and disappointment in it growing up. But now that I can control the focus of it, I love it. We still do gifts and meals and decorations, but I so enjoy the time spent with those we love. I do love the decorating part, and go big with that, but I start early so it's worth it. We already have a tree up downstairs for the kids, and lots of decorations too. This weekend we will be choosing our 10 foot tree for the living room, and picking it up next weekend. I am so excited. My in-laws and my dad will be with us for the meal on Christmas Day, and who knows what going's-on will occur between now and then, and afterwards up to New Year's. I'm looking forward to it.

Long Absence

I need to go to bed, so I'm not going to post much tonight. Just enough to reconnect with my blog. Our computer has had issues again, but we have it back, and hopefully it's here to stay. I must say, without a computer, my time is used better. I guess I need to learn self-discipline in this area, huh?

til next time...
