Well, Gayla's much the same. Had a second surgery on her back to remove all of the bone fragments from her crushed spine. Her mind is still slow, confused, forgetful. Who knows how long this is going to be.

I'm feeling rather agitated right now. Was reading on another blog, and came across a comment using the word "conservative". I imagined by the "tone of voice" used in typing the specific comment the writer curling their upper lip and snarling as they said it. Why is it that those of us who are more conservative are looked on with such disgust, and yes, I'll even add hate? I am anti-abortion, anti-gay marriage, anti-weird methods of conceiving children (ie: surrogacy), anti-stem-cell research, etc. etc...Having said that I know I would have a lot of people immediately angry with me. THEY can rant and rave and use all sorts of negative and even vulgar language against me "legally", but I daren't say one thing that reveals my ownership of these conservative opinions, unless I'm looking for a good fight against a law suit for hate language. No I am not perfect -but no one is. I do NOT claim to have the answers for everything, and I am the first to admit on a daily basis when I've messed up, been less than loving, less than selfless, less than all those values I hold dear. If they were to meet me, and spend some time with me, they would find me funny, articulate, educated, interesting, musical, loving, mothering, full of dreams and aspirations, welcoming and hospitable, observant, loyal and more. But this would all pass by most of them as they wouldn't even entertain the thought of spending time with such a "close-minded, conservative, right-wing, bigoted and hateful" individual. Interesting how EVERY other religion, opinion, world view, etc. is accepted by these "open-minded" individuals, EXCEPT those of us who live by conservative and/or Christian principles, values, and morals. Gee, I get tired of this!
