Freedom Files

This is my pursuit of freedom. I am a wife to the most amazing guy EVER!, mother of four, with a new one arriving in May. We homeschool, own a business, and love Jesus.

Ugh...these colors aren't right, so bear with me. I'm working on it! :)
Well, the ladies' retreat was really good. I managed to get home in the middle of it, and throw Cole a b-day party, and get back. It went well. Cole was excited, and we had a good time with the grandparents in attendance. We do have TOO MANY TOYS, and I'm going to be a mean Mommy and get rid of HALF of them this week. Some are going to Grandma and Grandpa Edwards. Some to Grammie and Grampie Rennick's. And some to Darlene's (neighbor/babysitter/surrogate grandmother/great friend!). This will help my cause a lot!

I am on a journey. I want to improve myself. I've realized that by times I whine and complain about others, while I stay the same. Wonder what changes would come if I started working on me more. So I don't know how it will go but I'm on my quest officially. I'm talking physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual exercising here. I've got one shot at this world, and I've no intention to waste it. I'm gonna kick some butt!!!

I should NOT be sitting here typing - I have such a busy week. Birthdays, worship practice, photo sessions, ladies' retreat....aaahhh!

But I had to tell you about my day. Just needing to vent.

It actually started last night - got to bed at 8:30 - really early, but we've been lacking in the sleep dept. lately.

Got to sleep at 9. Woke up at 9:20 to Cole crying for me. Settled Cole, back to bed. Sleep again at 9:30.

10:17 - awake again with Cole. Settle him again, just slip back into my nice warm spot, and he's crying AGAIN!!! I have no idea what's wrong. I go into see him twice more before I give up.

He stops whimpering, and I can't get back to sleep until after 11.

Wake up at 3, and can't get back to sleep until 5.

Dh is up at 5:30, so I always get woke up. I HATE sleeping in the living room!!!!

Luke decides this would be a good day to get up a bit earlier than usual. I just buried my head and ignored him. He stayed in bed until 6:30.

Got up, and he was fine for the first hour or so. Cole got up around 7:30, CRANKY!!! I couldn't do a thing right for the first hour. By then Luke decided it was a good time to get whiny too. So I'm trying to take a shower with Cole banned to his room - I can still hear him screaming in the shower - and Luke standing outside of the shower doors screaming cause he can't see me. Forget the all-over - I just did the basics! Got out, and after a few more minutes of Cole screaming he decided it wasn't worth it and got happy.

Have appt. for 11 to get Cole's pictures done. Had to re-schedule for this afternoon. I could not get him into the bath tub, and get us all out the door in time.

In the middle of everything I'm doing laundry. Went into the laundry room to fold the dry clothes, and Luke followed me - of course. He was playing with a basket of clothes pins, lost his balance, and fell forward. He split his lip, but I didn't realize it at first. At this point, I am half dressed with the clean clothes I am folding - pants and no shirt. But I have no choice but to pick Luke up as I'm now seeing the blood and run to the kitchen in my bra - hoping there are no neighbors outside today - they can see in our front window at the right angle. But with all that blood I am very grateful that I hadn't yet put on my fresh WHITE shirt. I really didn't get any on me, but I just KNOW I would have if I'd put my shirt on! ;)

Cole had just gotten out of the tub, and was running around naked, refusing to let me put a diaper on him. He has been attempting to use the potty lately - his own accord, YAHOO! - and I told him he didn't have to put a diaper on if he didn't pee on the floor. In the middle of getting Luke's bloody lip under control, Cole runs down the hallway yelling for a diaper. Then I hear, "Oh Mommy, look-it." Go into his room, and yes, he has peed on his floor.

The best part - it's not even lunch time!!!!

Ever have one of those days?

Cold 'nuff for ya??? Temp was -25 this morning. Now reaching a balmy -13. Not bad, eh?

Glen Northrup (as in Northrup Homes - a company in town that is a dealer of Maple Leaf Homes) came to take a look at our place today. He sounded very positive that they can take care of moving the mobile off the lot. And now we just have to figure out how the financing will all work. We're hoping they'll take this as a down-payment, but should have a few mos. to save if they won't. I am getting soooo excited.

YIKES!!! I have neglected my poor computer! But what a busy month! Finally, we are into January, and back to some semblance of order. AND....

We're going to build a house!!!!!! Our property did not sell, the sales agreement has expired and we are off the market. But you know, the longer we thought about it, the less attractive that place at Yoho was. I mean, it was nice - great seasonal living - but for year round, not really suitable. And LONESOME! Besides one more baby, and we'd be bustin' our seams again. So we are building.

I am so jazzed. I mean, I can hardly think about anything else. We are going to get a modular. Now when I first suggested modular to Greg, he winced. He of course, had the same reaction as me when I didn't know anything about them. Bland, sterile-looking, boring bungalows. BUT, joy and bliss, that is not true. They can build ANYTHING you want. And we want Cape Cod. They will put it on a full foundation - so we have to wait til the snow is gone and the ground starts to thaw - and finish the first floor. We can save money if we do the second floor ourselves. I really am nearly beside myself. I'm going to go into town today to look at fabric - we're having an old sofa of Greg's Grandma Madley's reupholstered, and will of course plan the living room around that. Cole's room will be a Pooh theme (not original, I know, but he just got a brand new Pooh comforter for Christmas that he loves as well as his new Pooh jammies), I'm thinking of doing Luke's in giraffes (saw a really cute picture of a baby giraffe with it's mama and thought how cute of a theme that would make for a little one's room), and Greg and I will have a suite on the main floor. There will actually be FIVE bedrooms upstairs (I'm planning for the future you know!), as well as a bathroom and a neat storage room. Most of these are my ideas - actually I did the upper floor plan myself, and did the lower based on several that I liked and combined. Anyhoo, that's our life right now. And I hope to be more faithful to my blog in the new year. Have a GREAT day!
