"I am slowly going crazy..."

I am a SAHM. If you are a SAHM, I don't need to say anything more. If you aren't, you wouldn't understand, so never mind.

I started the previous post on Sunday, and got distracted, so the date doesn't correspond to when Cole was sick...no big deal, just thought I'd clarify. I actually posted that this morning!

Well, it's definitely colder than last time I posted. We've had the heat on in the house a couple of times...can fall be upon us already???

Friday night and Saturday morning I was leading praise and worship (singing) for two separate occasions (I like to think that I'm a musician for anyone who doesn't know). It went really well. It felt so good, cause it's been a looong time...I was nervous of course, but not nearly like I thought I would be. Somehow, I feel infused with confidence that I never had before...hey maybe that's partly cause now I'm doing it for the right reasons (at least I think I am!).

Cole was sick yesterday...fever coming and going, threw up in early afternoon, only a bit so I was relieved. Ha! He saved it for when we were all settled in bed, him with us. So we had to rush around cleaning up while he was screaming for me (I feel so bad for anyone throwing up - it is the worst thing in the world!). And what a time to not have a washer! Will likely be making a trip to the laundromat today...

What a morning! I was soooo dizzy...I mean I was feeling like the world was tilting like one of those rides at the exhibition. I tried having a drink, a little bit to eat, laying down for an hour with all the doors locked so the kids couldn't escape on me. I wasn't getting better. So I called our wonderful neighbor, and she took the boys so I could go back to bed. THANKS, DARLENE!!! I'm better now, and I only brought Luke back home, cause Cole wanted to stay. Now I'm just feeling kind of weak. Not sure what it was, just glad it's gone. So much for getting lots of housework done today, huh?! And it's so hot! 32 deg. in the shade at our house.

We were too tired on Saturday to go birthday gift shopping for Greg's Mom, so yesterday after church we went to town, had a scrumptious lunch at Pizza Delight - after unloading the kids and walking from the far side of the parking lot at Swiss Chalet only to be told we'd have to wait 15-20 min....with two kids??? I think not. Greg dropped me off at Regent Mall, and I ran in, picked up some diapers for the boys, and a couple of b-day cards (one from us, one from the kids) and found some pretty pewter rose salt and pepper shakers (Mom E. collects pewter). The neat thing - I was totally prepared to pay full price (pewter aint cheap!), and when the cashier told me the amount, it was half-price! Yay!

On our way home we decided to check out some land for sale, ended up with Greg talking to one of the men who lived next door, and just so happens to be someone he knows because of work. We're putting a call into a land-owner to see if he'll sell. The lot for sale is no good for us, but the one on the other side of the man's house is PERFECT....I hope, I hope, I hope. We had called Mom and Dad E. in the morning to see if they would be home so we could visit and drop off her present. They had plans for the day, so we thought we'd take a trip out tonight. Well, on our way home who do you suppose was in front of us? Dad and Mom E.! They were delivering Kent's boat to the neighbor who winterizes boats. So I rushed inside, wrapped her gift, and went next door to deliver it. The house was a disaster so we didn't them to come in. Visited with them for about a half-hour, and then ran home to clean up as much mess as possible before Dad and Dawn arrived. It was 4:30. They were supposed to be arriving around 4:30. Didn't arrive until about 5:05. *woo* *wipes sweat off brow*

So, the visit. Well, let's just say after being delayed in getting home to clean the house, I had been working too hard, and dh was trying to keep the kids out of my way. I had wanted to talk to him a couple of minutes before they arrived. I was just finishing the bathroom when they arrived. So no talk with dh. And then they show up with two kids...I didn't know the other kids were coming with them. The boy is Dawn's grandson. He's 3 and his name is Ty. The girl is Dawn's step-granddaughter, and she will be living with them for an indefinite period of time. She's eight, and her name is Courtney. Sweet girl, but it threw me off. I knew they were going to be keeping her, but it just didn't click in that she'd be here. It's like this whole other life that I'm not part of, and mostly that's my fault, but I told Greg yesterday that it's already happening.

Yes, it's happening. Just what I didn't want to have to deal with. I'm getting attached. Kind of hoping that Dad and Dawn actually make it work. I don't expect them to as this is marriage #3 for both of them. And when they don't it will be another one that it's ackward with because now I'm getting to be friends, and she can't suddenly become my enemy. *sigh* Why can't people just stay married? It can totally messes up a life. And you know it seems the older I get, the more I thinking I do, and the more screwed up my mind is.

Glad I've got a chance to try and do it right.

Ok, so it's only a week later...sheesh. I'm definitely not that great at posting every day. Maybe I should stick to one long weekly post.

Luke stood today for several seconds without hanging on to anything or being hung onto. Lately he's been almost doing it, but lacks the confidence. It probably helped that he had a chip in his hand, and was enthralled with that.

We've just introduced Cole to Disney's Jungle Book (animated). I think he likes it. Eventually when he's older, I'd love to sit down with him and actually read from Rudyard Kipling's writings. Should be fun.

We went to the March for Jesus in town today. It was nice and sunny, but too hot for lugging kids allllll the way across the river (Luke was in a backpack - Cole in the stroller). We're all exhausted, but wouldn't you know it? Both boys fell asleep on the way home - YAY - and then woke up after getting home - WAH! I'm so tired. Greg's sleeping (the bum!), and I've barely stopped since getting home. No one told me it was going to be so lop-sided some times!

We have church in the morning, and then a visit by Dad and Dawn. Would rather not be having this visit tomorrow, but they called and said they have lots of corn, and wanted to bring it to us, and have a visit. Oh, well. Life goes on in spite of circumstances we don't like, right?

Must go. Luke's in bed now, and it's time for Cole to go, too. And then me! Noit guvna!
